Will Surface Pro 3 fit into Surface Pro 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 VidaMounts?

In the spirit of environmental friendliness, we here at VidaBox, always encourage the reuse of old tablets whereever possible! One common question for Windows Surface Pro tablets is:
· Will my Surface Pro 3 tablet fit into the Surface Pro 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 VidaMounts?"
Even though the footprint (length & width) of these tablets is the same - there is a minor thickness difference, making the answer not a clear "yes" or "no" - but here's info on how to make it work!

Yes - it will fit! ...with a minor caveat
Technically, the Surface Pro 3's Length and Width is actually the SAME as the Surface Pro 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 7+ models, so the VidaMounts we have will fit on the length and width, BUT the Pro 3 is a bit thicker, as per below:
- Pro 3 size: 11.50 x 7.93 x 0.36 inches (292.1 x 201.4 x 9.0 mm)
- Pro 4 size: 11.50 x 7.93 x 0.33 inches (292.1 x 201.4 x 8.45 mm)
However, we have heard of mixed reports, where the Microsoft Magnetic Charging cable's diameter may not properly fit behind the enclosure.
Due to the age of the Surface Pro 3, it hasn't been practical to find, purchase, and test a Surface Pro 3 unit.
Folks buying our Surface Pro 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 VidaMounts have NOT complained, as we believe that even though the tablet + cable is a bit thick, the solution is to simply either:
[1] Take a small chisel to "make a small 1mm deep cut for the cable path, or
[2] They may be using a newer MS Surface Charger, which DO have thinner cables (there's been multiple versions of the Surface charging connectors).
Above said - it'll most likely work, but may require a very minor mod / perhaps some sanding of the inside to provide a 0.5-1mm deeper path, if the cable thickness becomes an issue.
We hope this info helps!
